Equity
Establishing and sustaining equitable access to dignity, opportunity, and basic human rights — regardless of background.
What is amplitude? It is a simple word of nine letters that initially carries different meanings in different spheres. For us, however, it means the maneuver for change, for a better tomorrow.
Amplitude is an internationally recognised non-profit charitable organization led by the youths of Bangladesh that strives to institute and ensure the fundamental rights of the People. We work toward our goal of eradicating discrimination as much as possible by providing sustainable solutions. Furthermore, our work also covers abolishing social taboos in order to have a better world around us.
Our sole purpose is to serve the betterment of the society — and with a view to doing so we have taken many steps by far, one at a time.
Founded in 2019 by Nafira Nayeem Ahmad, Amplitude has quickly become a driving force in the realm of social justice and equality in Bangladesh.
Our journey dates back to 2019, when we started out as a bunch of adolescents who visioned to bat out all the odds that constricted our path to building a fair society.
Fast-forward to today, we can proudly affirm that we have made a remarkable impact on the scaling up of philanthropic activities along with the raising of awareness resolving societal stigmas — with thousands of beneficiaries and several underprivileged schools that we have taken full responsibilities of.
Amplitude is guided by the core values of equity, anti-discrimination, breaking societal taboos, and sharing privilege — the compass behind every project we run.
Establishing and sustaining equitable access to dignity, opportunity, and basic human rights — regardless of background.
Fighting prejudice in all its forms by amplifying the voices of those who have been silenced or sidelined.
Holding open conversations on subjects communities have long been taught to bury — from menstrual hygiene to mental health.
Recognising the resources we hold — and channelling them into sustainable solutions for the people who need them most.
Six leaders, one mission. Amplitude is built and run by young Bangladeshis who chose to act on the world they wanted to see.

From an art exhibition in 2019 to slum rehabilitation in 2026 — every project is a chapter in the story of how a group of teenagers built a movement.
Our first event, Galvanizing was a two-day based art exhibition hosted in Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Alongside many renowned artists, we also exhibited art of underprivileged children. Furthermore, we ended the nights with open mics where we exhibited the talents of many local artists. The revenue generated were used to buy art supplies to underprivileged students.
Art exhibition · Open micOur biggest project. As the December cold arrived, we approached the residents of Dhaka through the internet urging them to donate spare old winter clothes or monetary aid — motive being, distributing all the collections amongst the underprivileged who are forced to spend the entire winter on the streets in one piece of clothing.
Benevolence 1 took place on the 31st of December, 2019 and the initiative being a huge success, we have now triumphantly pulled off Benevolence 2, 3, 4 and 5 consecutively in the past four years.
Winter relief · 5 editionsMenstrual hygiene, yet another prevailing taboo in many places of country to this day. To combat this crucial predicament, Amplitude has carried out Paint It Red 1, 2 and 3 on the 8th of March every year since 2021.
We have distributed financial aid, hygiene boxes including sanitary napkins, masks, sanitizers and medicines along with leaflets that educate individuals on safe sex, consent and menstruation, to needy families and local orphanages.
Menstrual health · Taboo-breakingLiving through the sufferings of the people deprived from every meal of the day every day, to be kind towards them and aiding them to have at least one meal to their heart's content is the lesson that lies in Ramadan.
Since 2021, during the holy month of Ramadan, we do a month-long cumulating of donations with which we buy a month's worth of groceries and provide them for the destitute people in Dhaka.
Ramadan · Food securityAmplitude believes in the right to equality. Therefore, we introduced Booksgiving, a campaign for donating old books laying around in our houses to be replaced for school supplies alongside Bangladesh Education Board Book package for the disadvantaged children at the Rawshan Ara Bidya Niketan primary school, Choto Moni nibash, as well as other nearby schools in Mohammadpur since 2021.
Since 2026, this effort has been scaled to the remote area of Rangamati, taking full responsibility of 1 underserved, unlicensed school in that area.
Education · Book donationIn July 2022, Amplitude and Project Purple collaborated for a fundraiser that had performances and speakers. The main goal here was to enlighten the audience about different persisting social taboos, and how to overcome or fight them. All the funds raised was used to help the flood victims of Sylhet.
Fundraiser · Sylhet floodsThis was an open mic event that took place in the month of March 2023. Local artists of different genres were promoted to come and showcase their talent and the money that was raised by selling tickets was saved for rehabilitating purposes in the future. Later, it was used to help victims of the Bongo Bazaar fire in 2023.
Open mic · Disaster reliefAmplitude and Hope Bangladesh collaborated to raise funds and help Bidyanondo when a massive fire outbreak caused thousands of people to lose their jobs and livelihood. The Bongo Bazar fire tragedy affected thousands and this was Team Amplitude's attempt to make things a little better. Amplitude effectively helped by providing rehabilitation support to the ones affected by the fire.
Fire rehabilitationTeam Amplitude collaborated with Radio Carnival for a podcast that brought new up and coming artists from different backgrounds and genre, together to talk about issues and stigmas they face related to their lives and art. The Social Dilemma had a total of four episodes, each aired weekly from mid March to mid April 2023.
Podcast · 4 episodesAmplitude has hosted multiple workshops on the importance of Pinktober, or breast cancer awareness months, through infographics and workshops. One of these workshops were held in Scholastica, Uttara, where the students were engaged in various important discussion as they learned about breast cancer awareness.
Breast cancer awarenessMembers of Amplitude have actively taken part in the Quota Reform Movement in Bangladesh, started in July 2024. Furthermore, infographics on updates during the protest, followed by fundraisers for the ones protesting, injured, or relevant were implemented.
After the abolition of the fascist regime, Team Amplitude and its volunteers took over the streets of Dhanmondi from 7th to 11th August. The walls were adorned with stunning murals and slogans that kept the fire of revolution alive in the hearts of our people. They distributed food and water, utilising the funds received for the cause, along with controlling the traffic in the streets to ease the mobility of vehicles. A clean up was also conducted in 9 different areas of Dhaka city.
Protest support · Civic actionTeam Amplitude raised 87,770+ BDT for Feni and 110,284+ BDT for Khagrachari — two of the most affected regions during the fatal floods of August 2024. Alongside that, the team also collected 2,500 packages of sanitary napkins and over 1,500 big cartons of clothes for the victims.
The donations were personally handed out to the flood victims by the team and its volunteers.
Flood relief · Direct aidThis collaborative seminar by OSUN, SIL, and Amplitude aimed to raise awareness about men's mental health, address stigmas, and foster open conversations. Through expert-led discussions and interactive sessions, the event seeked to empower individuals to prioritize mental well-being and support one another.
Above all, it helped to open doors to more fruitful conversations revolving around the stigma of men's mental health.
Mental health · SeminarIn 2026, a devastating fire impacted the Korail slum, displacing hundreds of families and severely affecting local schools. Team Amplitude swiftly mobilized to provide immediate and long-term relief. We assisted 200 families, each with 2–6 members, in rehabilitating their homes — supplying essentials such as furniture, bedding, cooking equipment, and hygiene kits. Additionally, we provided support to three local schools, ensuring continuity of education by supplying learning materials, furniture, and teaching aids.
Through a combination of direct aid, volunteer support, and partner collaboration, this initiative restored safety and stability for affected families while strengthening educational infrastructure in the community. The project reflects Amplitude's commitment to addressing urgent social needs with sustainable, community-centered solutions.
Slum rehabilitation · 200 familiesA visual record of Amplitude's journey — from art exhibitions in 2019 to slum rehabilitation in 2026.
